Portraits at Duncan Garden

I took pictures before the weather cooled off of these four kids at Ducan Garden.  Some how I never saw this garden when I went to Manito park!  It is the most beautiful place I have ever seen.  It is a perfect place to take portraits.

 Here are the portraits of the kiddos:

My personal favorite, I love the blonde hair contrasting with the red dress and the soft background of the water fountain:

 

This one is the oldest.  She was so easy to get good pictures of, it was great!  After me harassing her for too long she complained to her mom: "My cheeks hurt from smiling so much!"

Newborn Photography

Here is my first newborn photo shoot.  It was much more difficult than I thought it would be...finding the right position to put the baby in, then finding the right angle, working with indoor light and editing... 

Luckily though, I had some willing parents and an adorable newborn to work with!  However, he did have one condition, unless he was being held he cried!

I tried positioning him on the Boppy pillow, but that didn't go over too well with him, as you can see:

So, we had to figure out how to hide arms and hands to get a portrait of just him:

Here he was so adorable how he dozed off with Daddy holding him:

And here he is laying on Daddy's chest:

Everybody LOVES baby ears and hairy baby shoulders...

College Graduates!

A couple of good friends asked me to take their pictures for graduation.  It was so EASY to take pictures of adults, something I haven't done in a long time!  They looked perfect in nearly every picture. 

These College Graduates have also very recently entered into the new world of Parenthood. 

Congratulations!

9 Month Portraits

This little guy is 9 months.  We tried at first taking pictures like this one below, but he didn't like being far away from Mom and refused to smile.

 

So once we got him close to Mom he started to give us some smiles...

Studio Family Portraits

I flew solo (mostly) for my first time taking pictures in my mother-in-law's studio.  I learned a lot....somethings I wish I would have realized at the time (the lighting), but oh well....  The family still looked adorable and the composition looked nice....
